Instructions:

Most flocking simulators based on Conway's Game of Life (ie: simulated birds flying in somewhat erratic circles) model social interaction by using interdependent formulas to try and guess what people will do, and where they'll go; in order to get what they need.

The in development political / economic model below is slightly different in that it has citizens staying put; while wealth and power flock around them.

The goal of the game is to:

  1. Create and combine formulas:

Use the formulas component to load, select or enter your own formulas, hopefully which can co-relate:

... to sustain a solid middle class:

  2. Experiment

Try various formulas (such as vote sizing to influence the redistribution of capital) to see which ones create the most growth, biggest economy, or overall satisfaction.

  3. Decipher

Notice how wealth and power can either co-exist peacefully, or else join together and be corrupted to make people miserable - even when they each have 100% of a vote. See what drives a healthy economy and/or a satisfied society - and share your results as we search for healthy / unhealthy co-relationships. Who knows, maybe some time in the future we'll be using your formulas to calculate optimum social behavior!
